Raw Food Tips courtesy of Karyn Calabrese
Karyn shares the steps to transitioning to a raw diet.
Beginners can start with cooked vegan food. Vegan means no meat, poultry, seafood, dairy or eggs. But I’ve made some dishes here you’d swear were the real things. This is fried chicken with rice, beans, and greens; Lasagna; and Crab cakes.
START EATING RAW MEALS
When you’re ready to progress to the intermediate stage, ease into raw foods. That means in addition to no meat, poultry, seafood or dairy, nothing is cooked. But, again, you don’t have to sacrifice taste. Try stuffed-spinach raviolis; sushi (California roll and “salmon” roll); and “tuna” (tuna-free tuna salad) with flax seed crackers.)
THE 30-DAY DETOX
Pros can do this detox to flush out the acidity in the body. It includes the Green Meal Shake, which helps alkalize the body, reduce food cravings and improve digestion. Then there are other digestive supplements and powders for cleansing and detoxification. Finally it includes a 10-day chlorophyll colonic.
