Hip-hop pioneer MC Lyte wrote a little rhyme for Steve Harvey.
Steve honored MC Lyte, the first female solo rapper in history, as a Female Groundbreaker! She kicked the door down in an industry dominated by men and paved the way for future artists like Queen Latifah, Missy Elliott and Nicki Minaj! Tune-in to hear her thoughts on today’s female rappers and how the industry has changed over the years. MC Lyte has always been a big advocate for education and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Dillard University in New Orleans. MC Lyte surprised a graduate of Steve Harvey’s Mentoring Camp with a $50,000 scholarship through the Hip Hop Sisters Foundation, to help him fulfill his dream of attending a four-year university!
